The European Connection (2001)

In late fall 2001, having not earned but a few dollars here and there from failed service offerings, I was approached by a european company interested in purchasing a copy of my site. With my money running low, and no potential revenue streams in my near future, I figured this was the small break I needed to keep the site going. I ended up selling a limited-use license to them for $4000. I went through all the hoops of having a lawyer draw up the contract, using an escrow service, etc. Best part of selling a licensed copy was it forced me to clean my code up. A good habit to follow, always write code as of you are going to be selling it to someone else.... Forces you to keep to better standards when you sometimes feel lazy...=)
